TERMS & CONDITIONS

By subscribing to any of the above plans, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

  1. Professional Fee Only: All quoted prices are exclusive of Certification Body (CB) fees, CB surveillance audit fees, CB auditor travel, and other out-of-pocket costs. Our fee covers consulting services — gap analysis, documentation development, implementation training, internal audit facilitation, and CB coordination.
  2. Not a Government Registration: ISO Certification is issued by accredited third-party Certification Bodies (NABCB / UKAS / ANAB / DAkkS) — NOT by any government. There is no government fee at any stage. The 'official' ISO certificate is whatever the chosen CB issues.
  3. GST on Our Fee: All quoted prices are exclusive of GST @ 18%, charged at checkout. ISO consulting GST is fully eligible for input tax credit for GST-registered clients.
  4. CB Fees Billed at Actuals: Certification Body fees vary widely — Rs.15,000 to Rs.90,000+ depending on standard, employee count, scope, sites covered, accreditation tier, and the CB's own pricing. We recommend 2–3 CBs and you choose. CB invoice is paid directly to the CB, not through us.
  5. Employee Count Cap (per tier): Elemental fits establishments up to 25 employees. Enriched fits up to 50 employees. Supreme fits up to 100 employees. Beyond 100 employees or multi-site operations, scope is quoted separately based on a custom assessment.
  6. Standards Covered: Elemental covers ANY ONE of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001. Enriched covers any TWO of these (typically 9001 + 14001 or 9001 + 45001). Supreme covers all THREE (full QHSE) OR sector-specific bundles (9001 + 22000 for food; 9001 + 27001 for IT). Additional standards beyond plan limits are billed at 60% of the per-standard professional fee.
  7. MSME Subsidy Reimbursement: MSME-registered businesses can claim up to 75% reimbursement of certification costs (capped at Rs.75,000) via the MSME Office's ZED / IPR / Quality Upgradation schemes — subject to scheme rules. We assist with the application but reimbursement timing is at the discretion of the MSME Office (typically 60–180 days post-certification).
  8. Refund Policy: Full refund of professional fee (less Rs.4,999 documentation handling) is available if gap analysis is not completed within 7 working days from receipt of complete documents. Beyond gap analysis, partial refund applies pro-rata based on completed milestones. CB fees already paid are non-refundable as they go to the CB directly.
  9. Certificate Validity & Surveillance: ISO Certificates are valid for 3 years. Annual Surveillance Audits (by the CB) are MANDATORY in Year 1 and Year 2 to maintain validity. Re-certification audit at end of Year 3. We provide surveillance prep within the plan-period (Year 1 only for Enriched, Year 1 + 2 for Supreme); thereafter quoted separately.
  10. Out-of-Scope Items: Onsite implementation beyond included sessions, additional sites / branches beyond 1, factory-floor process redesign, third-party software (QMS software / document control tools), pre-existing nonconformity remediation, CB audit hearings on adverse findings, and re-certification audit prep beyond Year 3 are not included and quoted separately.
ISO Certification by Legal Terminus

Legal Terminus Priority

An ISO certificate is more than a document — it is proof that your business follows defined processes and quality standards. While obtaining a certificate is relatively straightforward, building a management system that can withstand customer audits, tender evaluations, and supplier assessments requires expertise. Priority is what happens when experienced ISO professionals guide your certification journey from gap analysis to successful certification.

What you get

  • 🧑‍⚖️Gap analysis in 5 days — so you know exactly what you need to build vs document.
  • 📑Senior ISO expert-reviewed Quality Manual + SOPs — aligned to your actual processes, not generic.
  • ⏱️NABCB-accredited CB shortlist (not the cheap unaccredited variety) — so your certificate holds up everywhere.
  • 📋Internal audit + management review facilitation — so Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits are non-events.

Important Notes

  • Not all ISO certificates are equal. NABCB / IAF-accredited CBs issue certificates that pass enterprise / export / GeM scrutiny. Unaccredited 'paper mills' issue certificates that get rejected when checked on the IAF database. We only recommend accredited CBs.
  • Template-only consultants give you a Quality Manual that doesn't match your actual processes — which fails Stage 2 audit when the auditor walks the floor and finds reality doesn't match documentation. Our SOPs are customised to your processes.
  • MSME subsidy reimbursement requires specific paperwork — certification by an MSME-Office-approved CB, particular invoice formats, evidence of payment. We pre-validate the CB and structure invoices for clean subsidy claim.
  • ISO is a 3-year commitment, not a one-time exercise. Annual surveillance audits are mandatory in Year 1 + 2; re-certification at Year 3. Skipping a surveillance audit = certificate withdrawn. Plan the ongoing cost in your budget.

Types of ISO Certification in India

01

ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management

The big one. Required for 80%+ of government tenders, most PSU empanelments, GeM marketplace differentiation, and enterprise vendor onboarding. Covers customer focus, leadership, process approach, continual improvement. Applicable to ANY business — manufacturing, services, retail, IT. Our most-delivered standard.

02

ISO 14001:2015 — Environmental Management

For manufacturing, chemicals, energy, real estate, and any business with material environmental impact. Demonstrates legal compliance + pollution prevention + sustainability commitment. Increasingly required by ESG-focused enterprise customers and export markets (EU CBAM compliance prep).

03

ISO 45001:2018 — Occupational Health & Safety

For manufacturing, construction, mining, factories, and any workforce-intensive operation. Covers hazard identification, risk control, worker participation, incident reporting. Replaced the older OHSAS 18001. Critical for high-risk industries and labour-law compliance signalling.

04

ISO 22000:2018 — Food Safety

For food manufacturing, processing, packaging, cold storage, restaurants (large-scale), and supply chain. Integrates HACCP + GMP + traceability. Often required alongside FSSAI for exports and large institutional buyers (hotels, airlines, hospitals).

05

ISO 27001:2022 — Information Security

For IT services, SaaS, BPO, fintech, healthcare data, and any business handling customer / financial / health data. Heavy on risk assessment + controls (Annex A: 93 controls in 2022 version, down from 114 in 2013). Mandatory for enterprise SaaS deals + EU GDPR + India DPDPA signalling.

06

ISO 13485:2016 — Medical Devices

For medical device manufacturers, distributors, and providers of related services. Required for CDSCO licence applications + EU MDR / US FDA market access. More prescriptive than ISO 9001 — tighter on design controls, traceability, post-market surveillance.

Benefits of ISO Certification in India

ISO Certification isn't a vanity wall plaque — it's a measurable lever for revenue, operational efficiency, and risk reduction. Here's what genuinely matters:

Tender & Empanelment Eligibility

ISO 9001 is a hard requirement for most central government tenders, PSU contracts, and large enterprise vendor empanelments. Without it, you don't get past the technical-qualification stage. With it, you're on the shortlist. Direct revenue impact.

Enterprise & Export Credibility

Tata / Reliance / Infosys / TCS / global enterprise customers run vendor due-diligence checklists. ISO certifications appear on every one of them. Export markets (especially EU and Japan) treat ISO as the floor, not the ceiling, of supplier credibility.

Operational Efficiency Gains

Implementation forces process documentation, role clarity, KPI definition, nonconformity tracking. Companies typically report 15–30% reduction in process defects + customer complaints in Year 1. Improvement compounds via the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle baked into every ISO standard.

MSME Subsidy Reimbursement

MSME-registered businesses can claim up to 75% reimbursement of certification costs (capped at Rs.75,000) via the MSME Office's Quality Upgradation / ZED / IPR schemes. For Elemental tier clients, this often makes the net cost effectively negligible after subsidy.

Risk Reduction & Insurance Discounts

ISO 45001 (OH&S) reduces workplace accident rates — many insurers offer lower workmen's compensation premiums for certified workplaces. ISO 27001 reduces cyber-incident likelihood + makes cyber-insurance underwriters comfortable. Concrete, measurable risk reduction.

Global Recognition + 3-Year Validity

ISO certificates issued by IAF-accredited CBs are recognised in 165+ countries. 3-year validity (with annual surveillance audits) keeps the cost predictable. Re-certification at Year 3 is typically smoother than initial certification.

Steps for ISO Certification in India

Ten steps. 45–60 working days end-to-end (gap analysis to certificate). Sector + size + standard complexity drives the timeline.

1

Discovery & Standard SelectionDay 0

60-min call with our senior consultant to confirm: business model, sector, customer expectations (which standard does your target customer / tender actually require?), employee count, sites, existing process maturity. We recommend single vs IMS approach.

2

Gap AnalysisDay 1–7

On-site (or virtual) review of your existing processes against the chosen standard's requirements. We deliver a gap report listing what exists, what needs documentation, what needs new implementation.

3

Documentation DevelopmentDay 8–21

Quality Manual + SOPs + Work Instructions + Forms + Records drafted — customised to your processes (not template-pasted). Process owners review each document.

4

Implementation & TrainingDay 18–30

Process owners trained on the new SOPs. Quality Policy communicated. Document control + record-keeping rituals initiated. Risk register populated (Clause 6.1).

5

Internal AuditDay 30–35

We facilitate (or our trained internal auditor conducts) a full internal audit against the standard. Findings documented. Corrective actions agreed with process owners.

6

Management ReviewDay 35–37

Top management review meeting documented per the standard's requirement (Clause 9.3). KPIs reviewed, audit findings discussed, resource decisions taken. MoM signed.

7

CB Selection & ApplicationDay 37–40

We recommend 2–3 NABCB-accredited Certification Bodies appropriate to your size + sector + budget. You choose; we file the application with the chosen CB.

8

Stage 1 Audit (Documentation Review)Day 40–45

CB auditor reviews your documentation, internal audit, management review — typically at your premises (1 day). Stage 1 closes with a brief report identifying any major gaps before Stage 2.

9

Stage 2 Audit (Implementation Review)Day 45–55

CB auditor verifies that your documentation is actually being implemented — interviews staff, walks the floor, samples records. Typically 2–3 days. Closes with a closing meeting + nonconformity report.

10

Certificate Issuance + MSME SubsidyDay 55–60

After NC closure (if any), CB issues the ISO Certificate — valid for 3 years. We help you prepare the MSME subsidy application (where eligible). Annual surveillance schedule confirmed.

Documents Required for ISO Certification in India

Six categories. Most documents come from the implementation (Quality Manual, SOPs, records); these are the inputs we need to start. We send a personalised checklist after the discovery call.

Business Identity, Processes & People

Registration proof, existing documentation & org structure

Business Identity

Legal existence of the establishment
  • Entity PAN + Certificate of Incorporation / Partnership Deed / Proprietorship proof
  • GST Certificate
  • MSME / Udyam Certificate (critical for subsidy eligibility)
  • Trade Licence / Factory Licence / Shop & Establishment Certificate

Existing Process Documentation

We adapt rather than replace wherever possible
  • Any existing SOPs, work instructions, quality manuals
  • ISO certificates (if renewing or upgrading)
  • Audit reports (internal or external, if any)
  • Whatever process documentation already exists

Organisational Structure

Identification of Management Representative (MR) required

Premises Layout & Sites

Each site in scope requires separate audit coverage
  • Office / factory layout plan
  • List of all operational sites (multiple sites = multiple audits)
  • For manufacturing: floor plan showing process flow + storage areas + waste management

Customer & Supplier Profile

As on registration date
  • List of top 10–20 customers (sector, volume, criticality)
  • List of top 10–20 suppliers (critical inputs)
  • Customer complaint register (if any)
  • Customer satisfaction tracking method (if any)

Quality / Statutory Declarations

We help draft these during implementation
  • Quality Policy statement (we will help draft)
  • Top management commitment letter
  • Compliance obligations list (legal / regulatory requirements applicable to your business)
  • Risk register (we will help populate per Clause 6.1)

ISO Certification — FAQs

Got questions? We've got answers — straight, no-BS, legally accurate.

ISO Certification is a third-party certification confirming your management system conforms to a specific ISO standard (e.g., ISO 9001 for Quality, ISO 27001 for Information Security). ISO itself (International Organization for Standardization, based in Geneva) writes the standards but does NOT issue certificates — certification is done by independent Certification Bodies (CBs) accredited by national accreditation bodies (NABCB in India, UKAS in UK, ANAB in US). NABCB-accredited certificates are globally recognised under the IAF MLA framework.
Our professional fee covers consulting — gap analysis, documentation development, implementation training, internal audit, management review facilitation, and CB liaison. Certification Body (CB) fees, surveillance fees, auditor travel, and MSME subsidy reimbursement timing are billed separately at actuals. CB fees typically Rs.15K–Rs.90K depending on standard, scope, employee count, and CB accreditation. For an MSME doing ISO 9001 Elemental, gross total: Rs.13K (LT) + Rs.20K (CB) = Rs.33K. Net of MSME subsidy reimbursement: roughly Rs.8K–Rs.10K.
45–60 working days end-to-end. Gap analysis: 5–7 days. Documentation: 10–15 days. Implementation + training: 12–15 days. Internal audit + management review: 5–7 days. CB Stage 1 + Stage 2 audits: 5–10 days. NC closure + certificate issuance: 5–10 days. Faster for simple single-site / single-standard / small-headcount; slower for multi-standard IMS / multi-site / large headcount.
Depends on your customer and your sector. (1) Selling to government / PSU / enterprise? ISO 9001 mandatory. (2) Manufacturing / chemicals / energy? Add ISO 14001. (3) Construction / factory / mining? Add ISO 45001. (4) Food business? ISO 22000. (5) IT / SaaS / BPO? ISO 27001. (6) Medical devices? ISO 13485. (7) Most growing businesses end up with the QHSE combo (9001 + 14001 + 45001) within 2–3 years. Start with 9001 if unsure.
MSME-registered businesses can claim up to 75% reimbursement of ISO certification costs (capped at Rs.75,000 per certification) via the MSME Office's Quality Upgradation / ZED scheme. To qualify: valid Udyam Registration + certification by an MSME-Office-approved Certification Body + structured invoices + completion of audit cycle. We assist with the subsidy application. Reimbursement timing: typically 60–180 days post-certification, paid directly to your bank account.
3 years. Mandatory annual Surveillance Audits by the CB in Year 1 and Year 2 (lighter than the initial audit, but still audits). Full Re-Certification Audit at the end of Year 3 to renew for another 3 years. Skipping a surveillance audit = certificate suspended / withdrawn by the CB. The 3-year cycle continues indefinitely as long as you keep up with audits.
No — the differences are huge. NABCB-accredited CBs (recognised under IAF MLA) issue certificates that are globally recognised, pass enterprise / export / GeM scrutiny, and qualify for MSME subsidy. Unaccredited 'paper mill' CBs (often Rs.3,000–5,000 'cheap ISO certificate' offers) issue certificates that get rejected when checked on the IAF database — and don't qualify for subsidy. We only recommend NABCB-accredited CBs — usually 2–3 options matching your budget and sector.
Yes — if you have an in-house ISO Lead Auditor and the time bandwidth. In practice, most SMEs underestimate the documentation workload (Quality Manual + 15–25 SOPs + records) and the rigour the Stage 2 auditor expects. Self-implementation typically takes 6–9 months vs 2 months with us, and has a much higher Stage 2 NC rate. The cost saving rarely compensates for the time and risk.
Yes — this is called an Integrated Management System (IMS) audit. Common combinations: ISO 9001 + 14001 (Quality + Environment), 9001 + 14001 + 45001 (full QHSE), or sector-specific (9001 + 22000 for food). Single audit covers all standards simultaneously, integrated documentation, lower combined CB fee, less audit fatigue. Our Enriched (2 standards) and Supreme (3 standards) tiers are structured as IMS by default.
We've delivered 1,650+ ISO certifications across ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 / 22000 / 27001 / 13485 — for businesses ranging from 5-person consultancies to 200-employee manufacturing units. Every file is owned by a senior Lead Auditor — because the difference between a 'paper certificate' and a 'system that actually works' is in the customisation of SOPs to your processes, the NABCB-accredited CB choice, and the audit prep that makes Stage 2 a non-event. We file the MSME subsidy claim for you after certification, structure invoices for clean reimbursement, and (if you opt for Supreme) prep your Year-1 and Year-2 surveillance audits. Pricing is honest — our professional fee is upfront, CB fees are billed at actuals with no markup.
